Esmé Friedman-Ossenfort is a multidisciplinary visual artist. Her work examines art’s capacity to reveal absurdities in daily life and to serve as a shared language for processing complex emotions and social realities. Friedman-Ossenfort is fascinated by the intersection of beauty, decay, and reverence — themes that all play into the creation of her work. Earning her Studio Art degree from Oberlin College, Friedman-Ossenfort also studied at Santa Reparta School of Art in Florence, Italy. Her work has been exhibited each semester at Oberlin College since 2021, as well as an exhibition in Florence during April of 2024. Friedman-Ossenfort’s last semester at Oberlin culminated in a student-curated senior thesis exhibition, resulting in her first entirely independent practice. Sculpture, painting, and drawing were all showcased. Friedman-Ossenfort was the recipient of a scholarship from the Ox-Bow School of Art in Michigan during the summer of 2025. Friedman-Ossenfort lives and works in Brooklyn, New York, where she is an apprentice at the Center for Book Arts.
